What to wear for your photo session in Costa Rica

The short rule: clothes should support you, not compete. Against a background as green and textured as tropical forest, loud prints and big logos fight the landscape and the eye doesn't know where to rest.

What works

• Neutral or earth tones: cream, sand, terracotta, muted green, deep blue.
• Light fabrics that move with the wind: they bring full-body shots to life.
• Coordinate the family by palette, not by uniform: same tones, different garments.
• Comfortable closed shoes if we're heading to the waterfall, the bridges or the national park.

What I'd avoid

• Very small repeated prints: they look noisy on screen.
• Bright pure white under direct midday sun.
• Brand-new clothes worn for the first time: they're uncomfortable and it shows in your posture.

One practical note: bring a light rain layer. In Arenal rain comes and goes, and a session with a wet forest has a colour you can't get on a dry day.
