A stress-free family session: getting everyone ready

Timing, snacks and the most important idea: the best photos happen when nobody is posing.

A family session on holiday competes with tiredness, heat and the kids' schedule. Almost everything that goes wrong is solved before I show up with the camera.

Before the session

  • Pick a time when the kids are rested, not right after a long tour.
  • Bring snacks and water; a five-minute break saves half a session.
  • Tell me if someone in the family gets nervous in front of a camera: we work differently.
  • Coordinate outfits by tone, not by uniform.

During

We start by playing and walking. Posed photos happen in the middle, once everyone has loosened up, and we close with movement again. In an hour you get group portraits, couples within the family and loose moments of each person.
