The volcano usually clears early in the morning or near sunset; we plan the time around that day's forecast.

Entrance is managed by SINAC with a per-person fee at the gate. Booking your entry ahead is recommended in high season.

La Fortuna Waterfall

A 70-metre waterfall at the bottom of some 500 steps inside a rainforest canyon. It is a demanding and spectacular location: few photos in La Fortuna are as powerful as those from the viewpoint and the pool.
