Chile: notes from Valdivia and Santiago
A long, narrow country you travel in stages: Valdivian forest, city and the Andes.

Chile was my exchange destination: I spent a semester at the Universidad Austral de Chile, in Valdivia. Travelling and studying there changed how I build itineraries, because I understood that in such a long country you choose stages instead of trying to see it all.
Valdivia
Rivers, rain and temperate forest. It's a city for walking slowly, with soft light most of the day — very generous for photography even when it's overcast.
Santiago and the Andes
Santiago changes the register completely: urban scale, hills inside the city and the Andes appearing at the end of the avenues. The best sunsets come when a cold front clears the air and the snow turns pink.
